How to break down a sales target
Work backwards from revenue
Deals needed = target ÷ average deal value. Meetings needed = deals ÷ meeting-to-deal rate. Leads needed = meetings ÷ lead-to-meeting rate. Calls = leads × follow-ups per lead.
With a ₹10 lakh target, ₹50,000 deals, 25% and 30% conversion and 3 calls per lead, you need 20 deals, 67 meetings, 268 leads and 804 calls a month.
Use your real conversion rates
Plans are only as good as the numbers behind them. Pull the last 3 months from your CRM rather than guessing.
- Lead-to-meeting rate by source
- Meeting-to-deal rate by salesperson
- Average deal value by product line
Activity vs conversion
If the daily numbers look impossible, raise conversion instead of activity: faster first response, better qualification and consistent follow-up usually lift both rates.
Tracking the plan every day
SAS CRM shows each salesperson's calls, meetings and deals against target, so managers spot a slow week before the month is lost.
